Looking into a new idea for my colour project Daisy Jackson / 27/02/2023 After today's session I reflected on the ideas I already came up with and thought of a new idea. I want to look into a 'Where's Wally' themed book but focusing on a Gray Tree frog called Moe. This book will educate the child on different facts about the colour green where you have to find that particular shade of green which will match the shade of green Moe is. I am doing this because the Gray Tree frog changed caolour depending on what time of day it is. Despite the name including 'gray', it can still be green which is perfect for what I am doing. Each panel would be a differnet environment or a different part of the Gray Tree frog's natural habitat and include Moe - each being a different shade of green.  Rather than it being calle '50 shades of Moe' I would name it 'Different shades of Moe' or something along the lines of that. Creating rough ideas for character designs Daisy Jackson / 21/02/2023 After looking into children's books, I decided to create my own designs for the character of my own book. They seem too messy and not interesting for the child. I also do not know how I would develop these and make them interesting for a storyline. I am however leaning more towards character 2 as there seems to be more personality in this one. Character 1 just seems like a strange blob character - it does look unique though which is what Iwas going for! Once again, I tried to go for...

Researching into children's books and figuring out a target audience Daisy Jackson / 20/02/2023 Today I decided to research into various children's books to gain inspiration for my final piece for this colour project. I looked into mix and match flip books as well as books about colour in general. This allowed me to see how other artists approached the topic for children. It will also help me figure out an age range for my own book. Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? - Eric Carle Target audience: Children aged 3-5 years old Eric Carle's 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?' is an illustrative book about colour. The way the book is laid out is very interesting as it takes the child through a story about an adventure where the characters see different coloured animals. This allows children to learn about colour in an interesting way. The style itself is very playful and child like. Eric Carle uses mixtures of acrylic paint and tissue paper as well as card f...
